Giovanni Tronchetti Provera was born in 1983. He is the son of Marco Tronchetti Provera and Cecilia Pirelli. Marco Tronchetti Provera was the chief executive officer of Pirelli & C. S.p.A. from 1992 to 2022 and its executive vice chairman since October 20, 2015.

He is the chairman of Marco Tronchetti, Provera & C. S.p.A., a holding that he controls and which indirectly holds 50% of Camfin S.p.A. (where he was Chairman until December 2013). Camfin indirectly owns 41% of Marco Polo Industrial Holding S.p.A., the major shareholder that controls Pirelli & C. S.p.A.

Between 2007 and 2008, Mr Tronchetti Provera attended the Business Management course at the London English School, and from May 2008 until April 2009, he worked in the Finance Department of Pirelli Ltd. (UK).

Within Pirelli Group, he held roles as controller of a business unit moto (2009-2010), and investments controls (2010) of Pirelli Tyre S.p.A., controller finance for the “Russia Project” “Progetto Russia” of Pirelli Group (2011-2012), chief operating officer of the business Pzero Moda (2012-2015), manager of the Project Management Office focused on the New Pirelli Industrial initiative (2015-2016), manager of the OE Prestige (2016), Chief Commercial Officer BU Prestige (2017-2018).

Since February 2019, he has been Senior Vice President “Of Prestige and Motorsport”; since April 2021, he has also been Senior Vice President of Sustainability and Future Mobility.

Mr Giovanni Tronchetti Provera is a director of Marco Tronchetti Provera & C. S.p.A. and of Camfin S.p.A. and is CEO of Camfin Alternative Assets S.p.A.

He is, among other things, a member of the Board of Assolombarda.

Pirelli has been Formula One’s global tyre supplier since 2011, when it replaced Bridgestone. The partnership has seen Pirelli provide the F1 teams with tyres throughout the race calendar. In November 2018, Pirelli announced a five-year extension to its partnership with Formula One.
