Cycle of charity

Motor Racing – Formula One World Championship – Malaysian Grand Prix – Race Day – Sepang, Malaysia

Ex-Formula 1 world champion Damon Hill was one of dozens of cyclists who returned to Guildford at the weekend after riding 250 miles to the continent and back for charity.

Halow Project is extremely proud and pleased to announce that the halow250 2014 charity cycle ride has raised over £80,000. This is a phenomenal effort from the riders who have worked tirelessly not only while cycling but to raise sponsorship. Combining online fundraising pages and community events riders managed to reach this impressive and life changing sum of money.

Patron and founder of Halow and halow250 rider Damon Hill OBE said, “We have been truly overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and commitment we’ve had from riders and supporters. Huge thanks to all those who took part in the ride and everyone who helped make it such a success.”

The champion continued: “This was an extremely grueling ride against a strong headwind, particularly tough over the French hills, but as one rider said this is nothing to the mountains our young people have to climb every day”.
