What advice would you give now to someone who’s eager to start racing?

Just go to a local karting track to see what the sport is like and start watching Formula 1 or some other racing series on TV.

What’s your recipe for finding sponsors?

Good results on the track, in the press, and on social media is what helps most when finding sponsors. Simple as that. After all this, you need to talk honestly with potential companies to see what you can offer to suit their needs and what they can offer to help you as a racer.

And how do you deal with the competition on the track?

Competition has been in my blood since I was really young; in the track, it’s been the same as in life. For sure it is something that you need to deal with since you are a kid in karting. For me, competition makes me feel as if I’m having fun. I love the competition and I especially enjoy racing against other challenging drivers.

What was your very first experience of motor racing?

It was karting. Some friends invited me to my local karting track and that’s how I first fell in love with the sport.

What are your most important career highlights?

I would have to go back to my karting days when I clinched several titles. Also, in 2014 I won the SKUSA SuperNationals and I was runner-up in the SKUSA Protour. It was a really competitive year for me, and it was great! I took many podiums and several wins. The following year I raced in the Italian F4 Championship with a limited budget, but I was able to set a pole, a second place, and I usually was in the top five. In 2016, I was one of the challengers for the title and eventually, I finished third, racing again in the Italian F4 Championship. This year I have to say it has been quite good in the FIA Formula Regional F3 European Championship, which is very competitive with several children of former Formula 1 drivers. I’ve had what I call “some speed highlights”. Unfortunately, some failures hurt us in qualifying and in our overall results. I’m 7th in the championship and 5th in the rookie point standings. I think the best is yet to come.
