Born in 1997 in Hasselt, Belgium, Max Verstappen seemed destined for the Formula 1 spotlight. Racing runs deep in his blood—his father, Jos Verstappen, was an F1 driver in the ’90s, and his mother, Sophie Kumpen, was a karting prodigy. By age six, Max was already racing karts competitively, showing the world that greatness doesn’t wait.

His breakthrough came in 2013, when he won the prestigious World KZ Championship in karting and stormed onto the FIA Formula 3 European Championship scene. At just 16, Max won six consecutive races and finished third overall—already hinting at the force he would become.

In 2015, Max Verstappen made history as the youngest Formula 1 driver ever, debuting with Scuderia Toro Rosso (now Visa Cash App RB). Just a year later, he was promoted mid-season to Red Bull Racing and stunned the paddock by winning his first Grand Prix in Spain—on debut with the team. At 18, he became the youngest GP winner in F1 history.

From there, Max’s rise was relentless. He finished fourth in 2018, third in 2019, and then, in 2021, he clinched his first World Championship in a nail-biting Abu Dhabi finale—one of the most talked-about races in F1 history. He defended his crown in 2022, broke the record for most wins in a single season, and then added a third title in 2023, joining the ranks of legends like Ayrton Senna and Niki Lauda.

In 2024, Verstappen sealed his fourth consecutive championship in Las Vegas, a race that showcased both his technical precision and ruthless determination. Now a global icon, he’s more than just a driver—he’s a symbol of Formula 1’s new era of dominance, brand ambassador for AlphaTauri, and the benchmark for the next generation.

As the 2025 season looms, the grid is chasing Max—but he’s already focused on title number five. In Formula 1, where milliseconds define legends, Verstappen continues to redefine what’s possible.
