For over two decades, Bahrain has held a prestigious place on the global Formula 1 calendar — a feat made possible mainly through the vision and leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. His commitment to bringing Formula 1 to Bahrain has not only transformed the kingdom into a motorsport powerhouse but also cemented its place on the world stage of elite sporting events.
Since the inaugural race in 2004, the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix has become more than just a competition — it’s a celebration of innovation, speed, and national pride. Now in its 21st consecutive year at the iconic Bahrain International Circuit, the 2025 Grand Prix once again showcased Bahrain’s excellence in hosting world-class events.
This year, HRH Prince Salman was honoured to present the winner’s trophy to Oscar Piastri of Team McLaren, who secured a thrilling victory. He also congratulated George Russell of Mercedes and Lando Norris of McLaren for clinching second and third places, respectively. Applauding their performances, His Royal Highness highlighted the fierce competition and sportsmanship that define Formula 1.

But Bahrain’s impact goes beyond race results. Prince Salman emphasised that McLaren’s triumph echoed the spirit of “Team Bahrain” — a national ethos of ambition, resilience, and excellence. His remarks reinforced Bahrain’s role not just as a host nation but as an active contributor to the growth of motorsport in the region and globally.
Formula 1 has become a key pillar of Bahrain’s identity, blending high-octane action with international diplomacy, economic growth, and cultural prestige. Thanks to HRH Prince Salman’s continued support, Bahrain remains a flagship destination on the F1 circuit, where desert nights meet roaring engines, and the Kingdom’s passion for racing continues to inspire fans worldwide.
