When Soren Toft stepped into the role of CEO at Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in December 2020, he brought with him more than 25 years of experience in the global shipping industry. Reporting directly to Group President Diego Aponte, Toft now leads MSC’s cargo division, overseeing the company’s extensive ocean liner and logistics operations. He also plays a strategic role on the board of Terminal Investment Ltd (TiL), further strengthening MSC’s global port terminal network.
Before joining MSC, Toft held key leadership roles at Maersk, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Board Member. He also chaired several important subsidiaries, including Hamburg Süd and Maersk Oil Trading, during his tenure. His academic credentials include an Executive MBA from the renowned IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Since taking the helm at MSC, Toft has guided the company through a period of ambitious growth and transformation.
