25. Franz Tost

As a young man, Franz Tost competed as a racing driver and then studied Sport Science & Management. Whilst looking after Ralf Schumacher’s career, Tost followed him into F1, working for BMW in 2000 (engine supplier for Williams) as Track Operations Manager until 2006, when the new Scuderia Toro Rosso team hired him as Team Principal. Scuderia Toro Rosso was formed as the junior team of Red Bull Racing, with the aim of developing promising drivers for the senior team, although since 2010 Toro Rosso has competed independently of Red Bull Racing.
