Kimi joined McLaren Mercedes in 2002, and switched to Ferrari in 2007, becoming the highest paid driver in motorsport and rewarding that salary by securing the Drivers’ Championship. After one more year in the sport, he left Ferrari to drive in the World Rally Championship for 2010. In 2009 he was listed as the equal 2nd highest-paid athlete in the world, behind Tiger Woods. Kimi has signed a 2-year deal with Lotus starting with the 2012 Formula One season. Kimi Raikonnen has singe-handedly driven their PR operation during the 2013 season, and ran away to Ferrari for a not so glamorous 2014, but he’s now in fourth place among the drivers in 2015.
