A close ally of Bernie Ecclestone, who helped establish a race in Budapest when plans for a Russian Grand Prix fell through, Tamas Rohonyi is now the promoter of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Rohonyi, a Hungarian-born advertising man, who was involved in the Brazilian Grand Prix, suggested that Bernie should visit his country’s capital city. A deal was soon signed, and seven months later work was completed for the opening of a brand new circuit in the Three Springs Valley. Rohonyi has been credited with the continued success and stability of the Brazilian Grand Prix, which remained the season’s finale in 2012, in 2013 and also in 2014.
