With Singapore originally slated as a fixture for the Formula 1 calendar as far back as 1989, Colin Syn has shown patience, perseverance and dedication to bring the series to his home country. Not content with staging a Formula 1 race, Syn channelled his energies into developing the sport’s first night race, doing so, on a temporary street circuit. As a motor racing fan, Syn has been known to get behind the wheel once in a while. He has won the Open Class Gold prize in 1985, racing his own 240-horse powered Renault 5 Turbo and cites his time spent as a student in England, for developing his passion for motor racing.
