Martin Brundle never had the machinery to support his career ambitions in Formula 1. With 165 starts for the likes of Tyrrel, Williams and McLaren, Brundle has transformed himself from racing driver to one of the most influential television journalists in the sport. Brundle, in his fourteen-year tenure as a Formula 1 commentator on British television, was at the forefront of developing the nation’s attitude to the sport, a position that fields considerable power. Brundle moved to Sky for the 2012 season and still doing his famous gridwalk interviews – respected for his knowledge and tenacity, but also for showing respect to those about to jump into the cars and race.
