With the Formula 1 Grand Prix returning to Mexico after 23 years and being a success, the post-race events at Mexico were truly an impressive added experience and they were equally successful. Apart from the Mexican waves in the grandstands, the electric atmosphere at the circuit, the sombreros and music by The Paddock Lounge, a different mood would unfold by dusk during the 2015 Mexican GP weekend.
Friday: The Amber Lounge inaugurated the weekend with a fashion show hosted by key Mexican fashion icons featuring Saks Fifth Avenue brands which included pieces by Alexander McQueen, Azzedin Alaia, Emilio Pucci, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Lanvin, Christian Louboutin and Givenchy to name a few. The Formula 1 drivers walked the runway in Armani and Hugo Boss suits in support of Sergio Perez foundation, called Fundacion Checo Perez A. C. The funds raised over the weekend were aimed at aiding children living in vulnerable situations with integral development opportunities. To make the mood more electric, the evening had performances by the songwriters and voices of Swedish House Mafia – John Martin and Michel Zitron. They were also sets played by the six top DJs of the world to extend the party until early morning.
The overwhelming response has led to Mexico City becoming a solid destination on the calendar for 2016.
Saturday: A uniquely-themed party called the F1 Girls’ Night Out had superstar DJs playing music even at dawn. The event was attended by Formula 1 racers, several A-listers, VIPs an VVIPs, including iconic Mexican actors, singers and celebrities.
