Dolf van den Brink makes a relaxed impression. This is mainly because he can no longer travel due to the corona restrictions, he says. Before returning to the head office at Tweede Weteringplantsoen in Amsterdam, he was the top boss in Asia, where he travelled 70 per cent of his time, he says in his office. “I never thought I had jet lag until I could sleep in my own bed for a month. I turned out to have had a permanent jet lag, without realizing it myself. My energy level is now much higher. ”

Back in the Netherlands, he immediately started working on a new strategy for Heineken – EverGreen. It will be his most important project in the coming years. Van den Brink has imposed a number of ambitious goals on the company. For example, the brewer wants CO by 20302-neutral production. The entire chain of suppliers and buyers must follow suit by 2040 because the greatest gains can be made with the suppliers of ingredients and in the packaging, distribution and cooling of the beer. In production, 20 per cent of the emissions come from Heineken, the rest from the chain.

Heineken and Formula One Management have reached an agreement for Heineken to become a Global Partner of Formula 1 in 2016. This significant partnership started at the newly renamed Formula 1 Gran Premio Heineken D’Italia 2016, in Monza, and run for a multi-year term.
