Since August 2020, he has served as the Managing Director of Commercial & Marketing at the Aston Martin Formula One Team, helping to reshape the team’s brand identity as it races back to prominence on the world stage.
Slack’s role at Aston Martin F1 marks a natural evolution in a career defined by strategic vision and global impact. He’s not just navigating the fast-paced world of Formula 1 — he’s helping steer its future.
Before joining Aston Martin, Slack founded JS3 Sports Ltd in 2014, where he continues to serve as CEO, guiding global strategy for sports brands and investors. His portfolio of strategic roles includes FIBA, where he’s been a trusted advisor since 2015, and Challengermode, an esports platform he’s supported since 2019. His insights have also shaped the direction of STATSports, where he became a Director in 2016, and Silva International Investments, where he’s served as a Non-Executive Board Director since 2016.
A familiar name in U.S. soccer circles, Slack joined the board of The Miami FC in 2015 and has remained instrumental in its development. His earlier ventures include advisory roles at Vive Sports China and an investment position with viagogo, reinforcing his international perspective and deep industry ties.
Academically, Slack holds a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College (1981–1985) and a Master’s in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University (1986–1989), equipping him with a sharp analytical lens that’s evident in every business move.
In Formula 1, where precision, performance, and brand power collide, Slack’s experience across traditional sports, tech, and entertainment offers a crucial edge. His leadership at Aston Martin F1 is more than a business role — it’s part of a larger vision to evolve how teams engage with fans, partners, and the future of motorsport.
