The Mercedes F1 cars will hit the track at the iconic Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco with a new look. TeamViewer and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team today unveiled an updated livery of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 racing cars, with prominent TeamViewer branding on the engine cover, front wing, and cockpit surround. Race spectators will also see the Mercedes F1 drivers and team members competing for the first time in TeamViewer branded race suits and team wear this weekend.

The Monaco GP marks the official launch of a recently announced landmark partnership between TeamViewer and Mercedes F1 to increase the global brand awareness of the German tech company as well as to enhance the team’s racing operations with cutting-edge software innovation. TeamViewer breaks new ground as the first brand to partner with both the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team, which held its first race with TeamViewer branding at the Monaco ePrix ten days ago.

Toto Wolff, CEO and Team Principal of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team and Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport:

TeamViewer debuts

We were excited to welcome TeamViewer to the Mercedes-Benz Motorsport family in March and it’s fantastic that the final part of their integration to both our FE and F1 teams is taking place on the global stage at the Monaco Grand Prix.

We are looking forward to working together with TeamViewer across both series, with a focus on developing a deep technological partnership that will enable us to drive performance gains.

TeamViewer and Mercedes both share the same passion for performance and progress that will drive world-class software innovation for the fastest laboratory in the world and beyond.

Oliver Steil, CEO of TeamViewer:

We are very proud to see our logo featured on the Mercedes racing cars and team wear as it finally makes our partnership visible to everyone. This will boost TeamViewer’s perception as a truly global tech brand. With our leading remote connectivity solutions, we already do our share to make the Mercedes teams better, faster, and greener in motorsport’s journey towards net-zero carbon status. As strong partners, we will now deepen our technological cooperation and translate joint innovation from the racetrack to the industrial environment of TeamViewer customers.

The new F1 car branding was unveiled in a recorded video call between Toto Wolff and Oliver Steil, using TeamViewer’s new Augmented Reality (AR) based video interaction app lifeAR. The free mobile app bridges the gap between digital conversations with friends and family, and the physical world, by enabling users to interact with each other in a spatial context, sharing the video stream of a smartphone camera. As seen in the clip with Toto Wolff and Oliver Steil, location-aware AR annotations such as markers, text and emojis can be attached to physical objects like the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 racing car to drive interactive digital experiences.
