100 Most Influential People in F1, 2019

Monaco Colour

Paddock magazine presents the ninth 100 Most Influential People in Formula 1 list. It’s our very own annual register of the most powerful people in the industry.

We’ve gathered a team of experts of the racing business for this occasion: after a lot of research, the team sent an online survey for motorsport professionals, and then tweaked the final results.

Click on the names or photos for short bios, and most importantly, enjoy!

The ones to watch:

These individuals didn’t make it to this year’s Top 100 list, however they are definitely not to be forgotten or ignored, and we will most likely see them on the list in the very near future.

Nicolas Todt – Nicolas is the manager of racing drivers Daniil Kvyat, Ralf Aron, Felipe Massa, Pastor Maldonado, James Calado, Charles Leclerc, José María López, Caio Collet, Marcus Armstrong and Gabriele Mini. He is the co-owner of the Motorsport team ART Grand Prix, and was even rumoured to take over Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2007.

Nicholas Tombazis – Tombazis graduated with a degree in engineering in 1989 at the Trinity College in Cambridge, followed by a PhD in aeronautical engineering at the Imperial College London in 1992. Nicholas has joined the FIA to become its “head of single-seater technical mat- ters” in 2018. He has worked in Formula 1 since 1992, for the Benetton, McLaren, and Ferrari teams.

Michael Masi – Michael probably has some of the biggest shoes to fill – Charlie Whiting’s. M. Masi was on the panel of FIA stewards that served at last year’s Chinese Grand Prix, and he was also the chair of the stewards for the Formula E round in Hong-Kong.
